Children & Youth Day
A day specifically for children and youth, created by children and youth. Over 16,000 children and youth, along with teachers and chaperones, will be bused from their schools to the Seattle Center. Participants will enter the Seattle Center together and spend the day sharing expressions of the What Does Compassion Looks Like™ campaign, attending youth performances and programs, visiting booths created by children and youth, and learning about compassion from leaders including His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

Youth Ambassadors (ages 12–18), those who have taken compassion leadership roles in their schools, will assume youth leadership roles during this special day.

At the end of the program, the children and youth make commitments to greet each other with kindness, support and care of each other and the universe. This commitment is then sealed by weaving a golden thread bracelet held together by a seed and when woven together, becomes the seeds of compassion.

Post program activities will also take place throughout Seattle Center. Lunch will be served to attendees. Buses will deliver children and youth back to their respective schools by the end of school day.
